We are now looking for a seasoned and people-oriented technology leader, Director of Software Development (based in Finland) to take ownership of the technical execution across several development teams.
You will lead from the front, set direction, and ensure teams move decisively toward their goals. You’re a strong driver who gets things done, builds trust, and fosters collaboration. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with a human touch: someone who inspires teams and delivers results.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow multiple software development teams in a product-driven environment
- Own the technical execution, delivery quality, and reliability of product development
- Ensure scalable architecture and technology choices that support growth
- Support cloud-based development (preferably Azure)
- Collaborate closely with product management, design, and business stakeholders
- Hire, mentor, and retain top engineering talent
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Lead effectively in a global, multi-site environment
Requirements
- Proven experience leading software development across multiple teams
- Experience scaling teams and development processes effectively
- Background in product companies and building scalable systems is a plus
- Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP) is beneficial
- Strong sense of ownership for product development outcomes
- Strong can-do attitude and bias for action
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- A people-first mindset with the ability to lead assertively and inspire performance
- Ability to lead in a global, multi-site environment
