Job Overview

The Food Service and Attendance Aide support daily food program service and ensures accurate record keeping for the purposes of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).


Essential Job Functions

  • Champion the Malone Center mission and vision in all engagements and interactions, both internal and external to the organization.
  • Receive and inspect incoming food deliveries; verify quantities, quality, and condition against invoices or packing slips.
  • Report and document discrepancies, damaged items, or shortages.
  • Organize and store food items properly, ensuring compliance with safety, sanitation, and rotation guidelines.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized kitchen and storage areas (dry goods, refrigerated, frozen)
  • Coordinate with vendors, drivers, or procurement staff to schedule deliveries and resolve issues.
  • Track inventory levels, log usage, and alert leadership when supplies run low.
  • Follow food safety protocols, including labeling, temperature checks, and handling procedures.
  • Plate meals prior to staff serving.
  • Record daily attendance in Brightwheel and compile monthly attendance records.

  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Monitor and maintain inventory for all kitchen supplies Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • This position requires regular evening and weekend availability to support program operations, trainings, events, meetings, and organizational needs.


Education and Experience 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Customer service experience.
  • Demonstrated experience serving clients from marginalized communities.


Required Qualifications

  • Time management skills 
  • Strong Communication skills 
  • Ability to work with people 
  • Good organization and multi-tasking skills 
  • Able to communicate effectively with English speaking community members. 
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Attend all mandatory trainings. 
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within first 30 days of employment.
  • Food Handlers Permit at time of employment 
  • Complete CACFP Civil Rights Training.
  • Complete Mandated Reporter training within first 30 days of employment.
  • Effective and efficient problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and anticipation of needs.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to build rapport and relationships with people from all demographics.


Salary

  • $15-$17/hr
