We are looking for a Category Insights Analyst who will develop critical category insights utilizing Circana IRI syndicated data, marketing insights and category analysis to ensure Manhattan Beer and Beverage Distributors (MBBD) goals are met.
How Will You Contribute?
- Create impactful fact-based selling stories that grow the beer business for the Retailer, MBBD Supplier partners and the MBBD Sales team.
- Communicate all analytical insights into retail account presentations to drive volume, distribution, space, promotion and merchandising.
- Create new item introductions, growth opportunities, and package expansion and assortment analysis utilizing market data trends.
Your Main Focus Will Be:
- Grow MBBD’s Circana IRI dollar share annually focusing on key market segments.
- Prepare monthly gap summary analysis for use in Director of Corporate Sales Administration facility reviews.
- Develop and deliver monthly GSD Scorecards for each branch, recapping and analyzing specific territory trends by Segment, Supplier, Brand Families and Brands
- Create and manage MBBD’s Corporate Chain All-Inclusive Circana Scorecard focusing on total territory insights and trends.
- Maintain and update MBBD’s Circana Store-Level Data through select Retail Banners’ individual Pivot Table Dashboards
- Distribute MBBD’s monthly 13-Week Sales Sheets to the sales team for the 500+ stores providing Circana store level data
- Partner with sales teams in the field coaching and providing actionable insights on market data trends and consumer behavior
- Collaborate with MBBD’s Key Account Executives providing scorecards for Corporate Chain Focus Brands and other strategic initiatives
- Present quarterly insights to (SLT) Senior Leadership Team highlighting key market findings and performance drivers
- Execute high priority ad-hoc performance deep dives to equip sales and leadership with fact-based narratives that influence sales teams, supplier partners and key retail stakeholders.
- Conduct market audits to gain proper perspective on category execution.
- Assist the Sales force with market specific syndicated data to optimize revenue and profit.
- Effectively perform job responsibilities as outlined in the Personal Performance Plan Appraisal.
What Technologies Do I Need to Know?
- Strong capabilities in running and interpreting syndicated data such as IRI, Spectra data and evaluating consumer panel inquires.
- Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access), along with Adobe tools and space planning software.
Position Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years’ Retail experience
- Associate’s degree
- Must have the ability to analyze analytics and provide a compelling story!
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Must be able to travel through MBBD’s footprint, 1-2 times a week.
- Strong organizational, written/oral communication skills.
- Strong customer presentation and key account sales skills.
Accountability: Directly accountable to the Director of Space Execution
| The typical range for someone entering this role is $80,000.00-$85,000.00 annually, including base salary and commission opportunities. However, this may vary based on market factors. Reimbursement is provided for the use of your vehicle. Incentives and earning potential can increase with time and experience. Full benefits area available. |
