About the role
- We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Accounting Analyst to join our team. This hybrid role combines cost accounting expertise with ERP/supply chain systems integration to ensure accurate inventory valuation, seamless workflows, and efficient financial and operational performance across multiple locations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in both accounting and technology-driven supply chain solutions.
What you'll do
- Inventory & Cost Accounting
- Conduct detailed inventory analysis to ensure accuracy and proper valuation of work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Perform variance analysis to identify and report deviations from cost standards or inventory valuations.
Analyze general ledger accounts associated with inventory and COGS, providing actionable insights for improvement. - Prepare financial reports related to inventory, standard costing, and variance explanations for management review.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, manufacturing accounting standards, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with production, warehouse and operations teams to address discrepancies, standardize practices, and implement inventory control measures.
- Systems Integration & Process Optimization
- Configure, manage, and optimize NetSuite Supply Chain Management modules.
- Oversee integrations between NetSuite ERP, ShipHero WMS, Shopify, 3PL, and other platforms to ensure real-time data accuracy.
- Troubleshoot integration and workflow issues, minimizing disruptions across accounting and operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to map workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Support end users with system training, documentation, and ongoing technical guidance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Improvement
- Partner with finance, operations, production, and warehousing to align financial accuracy with operational efficiency.
- Provide recommendations for optimizing workflows, reducing costs, and improving inventory visibility across locations.
- Conduct ROI and cost-benefit analyses for proposed system enhancements or process changes.
- Serve as a bridge between accounting and operations, ensuring smooth month-end close and accurate reporting of inventory and COGS.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Proven experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment, including inventory management and variance analysis.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with ERP administration (NetSuite preferred); ShipHero, 3PL partners, or Shopify integration experience highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of standard costing methods, inventory control, and valuation practices.
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong project management skills, with experience leading system implementations or process enhancements.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
