Bilingual Dispatcher

Position Summary
Manitoulin Transport is currently seeking a Bilingual Dispatcher (French/English) to join our Central Disaptch operations team. This position plays a critical role in supporting Central Dispatch in coordinating the movement of freight to service terminals in the most efficient and cost-effective manner, helping ensure network fluidity, service standards, and on-time performance.

This is a fast-paced operational role requiring flexibility to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Central Dispatch in executing and coordinating freight movement across the network to service terminals efficiently
• Consistently answer phones and support driver needs, including:
  • Hook-up information
  • Departure times
  • Delay updates
  • Trip-related and operational concerns
• Work closely with terminal dock staff and managers to:
  • Plan trips
  • Determine the most efficient and cost-effective freight movement
  • Book hotel rooms for drivers and issue purchase orders as required
• Bill shipments and:
  • Manifest Trailers
  • Strip freight from manifests electronically as required 
• Maintain and update multiple shared Google spreadsheets
• Track shipments and assist customers after hours when Customer Service is closed
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
• Perform other duties as assigned
