Mary’s Meals is a global movement supported by people from all walks of life and united by one mission – that every child receives a nutritious daily meal in their place of education. Today, over 3 million children across 18 countries are receiving Mary’s Meals. In Zambia alone, we reach over 600,000 children every school day.

We are now recruiting for a Procurement Manager to join our team in Zambia. Reporting to the Head of Services, this role will oversee cost-effective procurement processes, provide strategic guidance on sourcing, and ensure that robust contractual agreements are in place to safeguard Mary’s Meals Zambia’s operations.

You will lead and support the procurement team, coordinate the work of the Procurement Committee, and manage tenders, contracts, and supplier relationships. You will also contribute to strengthening our global procurement function in collaboration with Mary’s Meals International.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead transparent, efficient, and fully compliant procurement of goods and services, ensuring value for money.
  • Coordinate the Procurement Committee, manage major tenders, and oversee approval of procurement in line with policies.
  • Develop and maintain procurement documentation, contracts, and annual procurement plans; prepare regular status reports.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate best prices, monitor market trends, and expand/prequalify supplier base.
  • Support international procurement processes in collaboration with Mary’s Meals International and ensure compliance with professional ethics, regulations, and policies.
  • Conduct risk management, monitor total costs of purchases, and develop strategies for effective procurement.
  • Build the capacity of staff in sound procurement practices and provide continuous improvement to procurement systems and policies.

About you:
You are an experienced procurement professional with strong organisational and negotiation skills. You are confident working with suppliers, leading tenders, and ensuring compliance. You have excellent communication abilities, a solutions-focused mindset, and are committed to integrity and accountability in procurement.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration, CIPS Professional diploma, or any related field.
  • 3 - 5 years of previous experience as a procurement Manager or related position.
  • Good communication skills
  • Proven capability to supervise, train and coach
  • Solid Knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy and systems.
  • Valid membership with the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
  • Valid driving license (Manual driving license)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
