Job Overview

The Team:

The Inbound Transportation and Customs team, part of the Global Supply Chain organization, is responsible for managing the timely, compliant flow of inbound goods across air, truck, and ocean modes. The team ensures cargo is efficiently offloaded, customs cleared, and released for delivery to distribution centers without delay. By proactively resolving customs entry and transportation issues, the department ensures distribution centers receive fully cleared, accurate product ready to support customer fulfillment.

The Opportunity:

The Senior Transportation Coordinator is responsible for owning end-to-end transportation execution and shipment visibility across internal stakeholders and external service providers, ensuring on-time, compliant, and cost-effective freight movement. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for shipment milestone accuracy, EDI performance, and exception management, proactively identifying risks and driving corrective action. The position leads carrier performance discussions, monitors service trends, and escalates issues with clear context and actionable recommendations. In addition, the role supports transportation financial management, freight claims resolution, and supply chain security compliance, including CTPAT requirements. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Transportation Coordinator contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and provides subject-matter expertise within the transportation operations team.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Own daily shipment visibility and milestone governance, proactively monitoring container and trailer movement across carrier portals, terminal systems, and tracking reports; ensure internal systems reflect accurate, real-time data.
  • Lead EDI performance management, validating the timeliness and accuracy of carrier milestone events; drive issue resolution directly with carriers and EDI platform providers to maintain data integrity and system reliability.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for transportation exceptions, independently investigating delays, identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and escalating high-risk issues with clear context and recommendations.
  • Facilitate and lead weekly service provider performance reviews, documenting outcomes, tracking action items, and communicating trends, risks, and service gaps to internal leadership.
  • Support and maintain CTPAT compliance, including evidence collection (GPS tracking, flow documentation, escalation protocols) and audit readiness.
  • Manage transportation financials, ensuring timely carrier invoice processing within contractual net terms, resolving billing discrepancies, and maintaining positive vendor relationships.
  • Oversee freight damage claims, from documentation and submission through resolution and recovery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, including process optimization, system enhancements, carrier performance improvements, and assigned stretch projects.
  • Act as departmental SME (Subject Matter Expert), providing guidance on the transportation process, systems, and best practices to peers as needed.
  • Demonstrate consistent on-site operational leadership, maintaining reliability and continuity in a Monday–Friday on-site environment.
