The Opportunity:
The Senior Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for the end-to-end operational performance, cost control and risk management of outbound transportation for the DACH/EE EMEA Export markets. The role provides the link between the market, Distribution Centre (DC), Transportation Management System (TMS) team, carriers, Customer Fulfilment and Procurement. It ensures orders are released, planned, tendered, collected and delivered in line with agreed processes, contracted rates and service metrics. The role uses data and operational insight to identify risks, challenge underperformance and drive corrective actions that protect customer service and freight cost. This role shifts fully operational during quarter ends and peak period(Sept- December) which demands a high amount of flexibility during weekend availability. Operational tasks consist of being supportive of driving need for truck capacity and troubleshooting all fronts in Order to Delivery tasks.
What Your Impact Will Be:
Market and transportation performance management :
- Own and review market performance across OTIF, delivery adherence, collection adherence, gross tender performance and carrier net performance against agreed targets.
- Check that the TMS team is operating in line with agreed processes, work instructions and escalation routes, and address recurring process gaps.
- Run regular performance reviews with TMS, carriers, the DC, Customer Fulfilment and wider Supply Chain teams; agree actions, owners and timelines.
Carrier, lane and capacity risk management :
- Assess lane-level capacity and service risks, including carrier capability, equipment or driver constraints, and recommend mitigation or movement to secondary carriers.
- Escalate non-performing carriers, support recovery plans and contribute to carrier selection, onboarding and deallocation decisions with Procurement.
- Maintain visibility of market and customer complexities, including delivery requirements, booking processes, lead times, customs needs and seasonal volume changes.
Rates, cost control and audit compliance:
- Work with Procurement to ensure contracted, spot and accessorial rates are available, accurate and implemented before operational go-live.
- Verify that market lanes are moved in line with the agreed rate audit and carrier allocation; investigate deviations and highlight financial or service risks to the business.
- Track freight spend, base rates, fuel, spot costs, accessorial charges, claims, penalties and chargebacks; challenge avoidable or unsupported costs.
Operational execution and exception management :
- Collaborate with the DC, TMS team and carriers to support timely order release, shipment creation, tender acceptance, collection and delivery.
- Act as the primary market contact for outbound transport exceptions and coordinate fast resolution of failed collections, delivery delays, missing capacity or documentation issues.
Additional accountabilities:
- Ensure timely Proof of Delivery (POD) and relevant delivery documentation are obtained from carriers.
- Analyse root causes across the end-to-end order cycle and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide market intelligence, data insight and business requirements to Procurement for tenders, carrier reviews and sourcing decisions.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives while protecting service and operational resilience.
- Run local monthly business reviews (MBRs) with Customer Fulfilment, TMS, the DC and wider Supply Chain stakeholders, with clear actions, owners and due dates.
- Conduct weekly carrier performance reviews against agreed operational and strategic targets, including OTIF, collection adherence, delivery adherence, gross tender performance and carrier net performance.
- Drive continuous improvement across carrier performance, DC execution and customer-service gaps, supported by root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Suppress avoidable accessorial charges through detailed data analysis, rate validation and direct coordination with carriers, TMS and Procurement.
- Support Procurement with market intelligence and business insights to improve carrier selection and participate in onboarding replacement carriers where recovery plans are unsuccessful.
