[EL] Electrician

An electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring, equipment, and systems to ensure safe and reliable power in homes, businesses, and industrial facilities.​

Core responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, lighting, outlets, panels, and control systems according to technical diagrams and blueprints.​

• Inspect electrical components such as circuit breakers, transformers, and wiring, then troubleshoot faults using testing devices and repair or replace defective parts.​

• Plan and execute wiring layouts, connect circuits, and upgrade existing systems to meet new load, safety, or efficiency requirements.​

Safety and compliance

• Follow national and local electrical codes and building regulations to prevent fire, shock, and other hazards.​

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns, including checking insulation, tightening connections, and testing safety devices.​

• Use appropriate tools, PPE, and lockout/tagout procedures to work safely on live or potentially energized systems.
