Maviance PLC is a digital financial services provider that develops, operates, and grows a technological platform that focuses on increasing and facilitating access to digital financial services (including bill & payment aggregation, retail payments, agent banking, corporate & bulk payments) to people, companies, and government entities of all income level across Cameroon. Maviance PLC is engaging in its expansion phase in Cameroon and within the CEMAC (Central African) region with the goal of establishing the company as the #1 leading player in the Fintech and Digital Financial space.
To accompany us in this light, we seek a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team. The CFO will play a crucial role in steering the financial strategy, oversight, and direction of the company. This leadership position involves ensuring fiscal responsibility while supporting the company’s ambitious growth targets. The CFO will report directly to the CEO and collaborate with the board of directors, providing insights into the company’s financial health and strategy.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute long-term financial strategies that align with business objectives.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and board.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Maintain compliance with local, national, and international financial regulations.
- Coordinate internal and external audits effectively.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Oversee corporate insurance and risk management policies.
- Implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Treasury and Cash Flow Management:
- Manage company cash-flow, liquidity, and capital structure.
- Oversee relationships with banks, investments, and financing arrangements.
- Optimize working capital and funding strategies.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting teams.
- Foster strong cross-functional relationships with other departments (e.g., operations, sales).
- Cultivate a culture of financial discipline, accountability, and ethical conduct.
Technology and Process Improvement:
- Leverage financial technologies and systems to enhance reporting and analysis.
- Drive automation and process improvements in financial operations.
- Support digital transformation and data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Investor and Stakeholder Relations:
- Communicate financial performance to shareholders, investors, and analysts.
- Support fundraising, mergers, acquisitions, and investor relations activities.
- Represent the company in financial matters with external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proficient in both written and verbal communication in French and English.
- Strong knowledge of local laws and OHADA regulations.
- Experience in tax audits and compliance.
- Demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and strong organizational abilities
- Reliability, integrity, and excellent communication skills with an entrepreneurial mindset
- In-depth knowledge of CEMAC financial laws and ecosystem
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, and other financial tools
