Purpose of the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for highly-motivated and proactive Materials Science/Materials Engineering students to join our McLaren Racing team, for a period of 13 months starting in July 2026, that will see you contribute to our performance and expose you to how a Formula 1 team works, with hands-on experience in our Materials Engineering Group.

You need to be able to use your own initiative, learn new topics & skills, work proactively and, often, to strict deadlines in a high-pressure environment – in what are demanding but extremely rewarding roles. Internships at McLaren are a fantastic opportunity to apply yourself and act as a springboard for your engineering career.

Your placement will be in our Materials Engineering Group within McLaren Racing and will involve hands-on lab-based analysis for materials development and fault/failure investigations.
