SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports engineering and production teams by assisting with the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and systems in a heavy manufacturing environment. This role is vital to improving efficiency, quality, and safety on the production floor and ensuring that equipment and tooling are functioning at optimal levels.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist engineers in designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing processes, procedures, and tooling for new and existing products.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production processes, equipment, and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Collect and analyze data to identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements in workflow, layout, or tooling.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality or process issues.
- Draft and/or update standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.
- Assist in process capability studies, time studies, and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Provide technical support during installation, maintenance, or upgrades of production equipment.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational requirements.
- Support manufacturing engineers in capital equipment procurement and commissioning projects.
- Maintain accurate records of tests, calibrations, and inspections.
