Data Governance Engineer

Job Overview

  • Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to help them document and determine data governance requirements, data flows, and lineage mapping across various systems,
  • Help redefine and design governance-related tooling and processes to improve data quality and accessibility,
  • Work closely with senior technology stakeholders to understand the current data landscape and identify improvement opportunities,
  • Collaborate with different technology groups to not only document their data but also propose enhancements and refinements to data published into the broader organization,
  • Conduct detailed analysis of how different systems interoperate and identify opportunities for improved data flows and governance,
  • Implement and maintain data quality standards, monitoring, and validation processes,
  • Ensure data governance practices align with regulatory requirements and internal risk management policies,
  • Present findings and recommendations to various stakeholders across technology and business units,
  • Continuously evaluate and improve existing data governance processes and tools,
  • Help educate teams on data governance best practices and tooling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Programming Languages: Python, SQL.
  • Database Technologies: Understanding of relational databases, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes.
  • Version Control: Familiarity with Git and collaborative development practices.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data analysis and documentation.
  • Curiosity: Natural inquisitiveness about how systems work and how data flows through organizations.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing priorities.
  • Critical Thinking: Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Hungarian citizenship and fluent Hungarian/English language skills is a must.
