Data Governance Engineer
Full-time AssociateJob Overview
- Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to help them document and determine data governance requirements, data flows, and lineage mapping across various systems,
- Help redefine and design governance-related tooling and processes to improve data quality and accessibility,
- Work closely with senior technology stakeholders to understand the current data landscape and identify improvement opportunities,
- Collaborate with different technology groups to not only document their data but also propose enhancements and refinements to data published into the broader organization,
- Conduct detailed analysis of how different systems interoperate and identify opportunities for improved data flows and governance,
- Implement and maintain data quality standards, monitoring, and validation processes,
- Ensure data governance practices align with regulatory requirements and internal risk management policies,
- Present findings and recommendations to various stakeholders across technology and business units,
- Continuously evaluate and improve existing data governance processes and tools,
- Help educate teams on data governance best practices and tooling.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline.
- 3 years of relevant experience.
- Programming Languages: Python, SQL.
- Database Technologies: Understanding of relational databases, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes.
- Version Control: Familiarity with Git and collaborative development practices.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data analysis and documentation.
- Curiosity: Natural inquisitiveness about how systems work and how data flows through organizations.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing priorities.
- Critical Thinking: Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
- Hungarian citizenship and fluent Hungarian/English language skills is a must.
