The Engineering Garage Assistant supports the development of standardized repair timelines by accurately documenting each step of the automotive service process during time-and-motion studies. You will work closely with lead technicians to record procedural data, track tool usage, and ensure all investigative steps are captured for comprehensive labor time establishing. This role requires a blend of mechanical interest and administrative precision to ensure that final labor guides reflect realistic, efficient, and high-quality service standards. Additionally, the Engineering Garage Assistant will ensure that the shop remains clean and well organized and preps vehicles for delivery back to field service.
All functions performed by the Engineering Garage Assistant are completed at the Engineering Garage located the Fountain Valley, CA.
As a Garage Assistant, you will be expected to succeed at the following tasks:
Candidate Responsibilities:
Document labor time studies and create a final report based on findings,
Demonstrated familiarity with navigating online resources, interpreting & navigating standard automotive service information, and using common MS office applications efficiently,
Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment,
Perform detailed daily record keeping and reporting,
Locate and receive shipment of parts,
Follow and promote high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization,
Normal 5 S standards - Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain,
Maintain a clean and organized work environment; help clean shop,
Locate, move, and wash vehicles as needed,
Assist with any tasks as requested by supervisor.
