NAC is currently seeking a full-time Scheduler, initially based on our Dalewood Water Reclamation Facility project in St. Thomas, ON.
Position Summary
The Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules to support both NAC’s internal objectives and contractual requirements. This role works closely with project teams, Operations, clients, and subcontractors to assess progress, identify risks, and provide solutions to scheduling challenges. The Scheduler also plays a key role in supporting overall project cost control.

Position Summary
The Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules to support both NAC’s internal objectives and contractual requirements. This role works closely with project teams, Operations, clients, and subcontractors to assess progress, identify risks, and provide solutions to scheduling challenges. The Scheduler also plays a key role in supporting overall project cost control.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and update master construction schedules for assigned projects.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of project estimates and cost reports to support cost control objectives.
- Track and analyze project progress, identifying impacts of work performed and not performed as scheduled.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure scheduling aligns with NAC policies, procedures, and project control documents.
- Work with site teams to develop look-ahead schedules and proactively identify potential scheduling issues.
- Review contract documents to extract key scheduling requirements, including start/end dates, milestones, owner obligations, and liquidated damages.
- Provide regular schedule updates, progress reports, and critical path analysis.
- Incorporate change orders and project adjustments into schedules as required.
- Gather and consolidate schedule information from site personnel and communicate updates to internal stakeholders.
- Interface with Operations, clients, and subcontractors to assess impacts and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Plan and sequence complex activities such as shutdowns, tie-ins, and constrained work.
- Utilize Primavera P6 to its full capability for scheduling, analysis, and reporting.
- Support and train Project Coordinators in schedule updates and use of scheduling tools.
- Provide scheduling support to various head office departments, as needed.
- Travel to project sites as required.
Requirements:
- University degree or college diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a scheduling role within the construction industry.
- Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 (required); experience with Microsoft Project is an asset.
- Experience with resource loading and earned value reporting.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and project lifecycle.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of project structures, preferably within municipal infrastructure projects, is an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on building and maintaining relationships.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
