Business Development Manager - Taiwan (Market Entry)

Job Overview

This is a senior, high-autonomy role focused on launching our business in Taiwan and winning new customers. You will report to regional leadership and operate as the first commercial hire locally, building momentum without relying on an established in-country team or office.

In this position, you will open the market from scratch: decide where to play first, create a practical go-to-market approach, and develop early customer and partner traction. You will run the full sales motion end-to-end, engaging senior stakeholders, communicating a clear business case for our solution, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver successful outcomes for customers.

You will run the full sales motion end-to-end, engaging senior stakeholders, communicating a clear business case for our solution, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver successful outcomes for customers.

What You Will Do

  • Lead Taiwan market entry activities, including vertical prioritization and early go-to-market execution.
  • Build the initial network of merchants and ecosystem partners to accelerate pipeline creation.
  • Develop channel relationships with relevant players such as agencies and key service providers (for example: fulfillment, delivery, and payments) to support lead flow and adoption.
  • Act as a local representative at industry gatherings to increase awareness and credibility.
  • Provide ongoing, structured insight to APAC leadership on competitor movements, policy or regulatory shifts, and customer needs.
  • Own new business growth and expand share in a greenfield territory.
  • Run the complete sales cycle from discovery and demo through negotiation and close, working closely with internal stakeholders (sales development, solutions/implementation, and partnerships).
  • Sell consultatively to both mid-market and enterprise customers, anchored on value, measurable impact, and ROI.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior decision-makers.
  • Maintain pipeline hygiene, forecasting accuracy, and consistent delivery against quarterly targets.

What You Will Need

  • 5+ years of B2B commercial experience in SaaS, e-commerce technology, payments, or closely related areas (experience with cross-border commerce is a plus).
  • Evidence of building pipeline and closing net-new business in a self-directed, “start-from-zero” environment.
  • Strong relationships and a credible network across Taiwan’s retail and consumer brand landscape, including DTC.
  • Comfortable working independently with limited local infrastructure and moving quickly with ambiguity.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both customers and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Fluent in Chinese and English with strong presentation skills.
  • Based in Taiwan.
