We are looking for: Junior Business Analyst (Payments)
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing transformation team within one of the world’s leading financial institutions. As a Junior Business Analyst, you will support digital and payments for modernization projects that enhance corporate banking services and client integration capabilities.
You will gain hands-on experience in payment systems, ISO 20022 messaging, and financial process automation, while working closely with senior analysts, architects, and operations teams. The role also offers exposure to AI-assisted productivity tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, and JIRA Rovo) that help streamline documentation, testing, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support business analysis activities for digital payment modernization and system integration initiatives.
- Gather, document, and validate business requirements related to payments, reconciliations, and liquidity processes.
- Translate business needs into functional or technical specifications under the guidance of senior analysts.
- Participate in workshops and stakeholder meetings to capture and clarify requirements.
- Contribute to the definition and execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and help track and report test outcomes.
- Learn to use AI-assisted tools to improve requirement documentation, user story drafting, and report summarization.
- Collaborate with technology, operations, and compliance teams to ensure proposed solutions meet regulatory and business standards.
- Support the continuous improvement of documentation and analysis practices across the transformation team.
Requirements
Mandatory:
- 1–3 years of experience in financial services, ideally in payments, cash management, or treasury operations.
- Basic understanding of payment messaging standards such as ISO 20022 and SWIFT MT.
- Interest in learning bank connectivity models (API, SFTP, Host-to-Host, EBICS) and corporate ERP/TMS integration.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive learning mindset.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Openness to using AI-based tools to improve analytical and documentation tasks.
- Awareness of ethical and secure data handling within banking environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
Desirable:
- Exposure to ISO 20022 message formats (pain.001, pain.002, pacs.008, etc.) or message mapping practices.
- Experience with BPMN or basic data mapping.
- Familiarity with SWIFT MyStandards for message validation or documentation.
- Understanding of PSD2, SEPA, or other payment regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with ERP or TMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Basic skills in MS Excel, Power BI, or SQL for data analysis.
- Strong interest in digital transformation, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Relevant certifications or training (e.g., Agile Fundamentals, BA Foundation, SWIFT Basics) are an advantage.
