Purpose of role
The North America Financial Controller will oversee all financial controllership activities across the United States and Canada, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting in accordance with Group accounting policies and local regulatory standards. Reporting to the Assistant Group Financial Controller, this role will lead regional finance operations, drive financial process improvement, revenue recognition, and ensure robust internal controls in a dynamic and growing environment. You will serve as a key liaison between global finance and North American stakeholders and play a crucial role in supporting the strategic objectives in the region, including assisting with the integration of the new client platform (NCP).
What You’ll Do
- Manage the end-to-end financial close process across all North American entities, ensuring alignment with internal deadlines and compliance with IFRS and US GAAP (as applicable).
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports and financial statements.
- Act as a business partner to Regional Operational leaders and Compliance, supporting regulatory requests from a Finance perspective as required.
- Collaborate cross functionally with global finance functions to ensure cohesive end to end financial processes and policies.
- Collaborate effectively with the global finance leadership, operational teams, tax advisors, and external auditors.
- Coordinate and manage local statutory audits and support global audit requirements in the North American region, including subsidiary Board reporting.
- Prepare audit schedules, financial statement disclosures, and collaborate with external auditors.
- Oversee all aspects of corporate tax, sales/use tax, property tax, and other applicable indirect taxes in North America.
- Work closely with external tax advisors to manage filings, audits, and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to internal control environment, including reconciliation accuracy, approval workflows, data integrity between payment and financial systems, and timely remediation of control deficiencies
- Identify gaps in control frameworks and lead remediation efforts to strengthen risk mitigation and financial governance.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within the Controllership team both regionally and for the Group
- Leverage ERP systems and reporting tools to automate and streamline financial reporting.
- Contribute to group-wide finance projects, including ERP upgrades, policy roll-outs, and integration activities related to business changes or acquisitions, including NCP.
