About the Role
One Acre Fund takes on debt to finance our working capital needs, resulting from purchasing agricultural inputs ahead of time and selling them on credit to farmers. You will join the Investor Relations team, which manages our debt needs, identifies and grows relationships with lenders, and advises on capital structure and liquidity management.
The Investor Relations (IR) team is currently a team of 3 people, based in New York & Nairobi, and part of the larger Finance Division. You will report to the Investor Relations Director to independently develop a pipeline of debt investments.
Responsibilities
- Debt Raising: You will source and structure working capital financing deals from African banks and commercial financing actors in our operating countries. You will have an annual deal-making target in the 7-8 figure range (USD or USD equivalent). In particular, you will lead One Acre Fund’s innovative financing platform: local currency financing and structured working capital debt products (e.g., BOE, receivables financing)
- Lead Investor Relations’ presence in SSA: You will lead the team’s presence in the region, participating in conferences, panels, and relevant investor events, and leading prospect and current investor visits to our operations. You will stay informed about market trends and deals in our countries of operations.
- Contribute to Investor Relations’ team goals: You will weigh in on capital structure issues, liquidity monitoring, risk, and financing strategies, contribute to our external financial reporting, and assist on analysis, proposals, and reports as needed.

For this role specifically, we are seeking an exceptional banking professional with 8-10+ years of experience structuring loans, and a passion for our mission. You are encouraged to apply if you have:
- Clear track record of originating and structuring loans in the 7–8 figure range (USD or USD-equivalent)
- Experience independently managing the full debt raising cycle, from prospecting to due diligence, term negotiation, and legal documentation, with support from legal counsel
- Experience developing and maintaining strong relationships with both external clients and internal stakeholders, understanding the factors influencing decision-making.
- Experience in corporate finance and financial statement analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
- Strong networks within the banking and investing community in Africa
