We are hiring a Senior Oracle APEX Developer to build, evolve, and support mission on banking/financial products.
You will own end-to-end feature delivery across Oracle APEX and PL/SQL, sit at the core of our ETL/ELT data flows, and orchestrate business processes (reviews, approvals, audit trails). The role blends greenfield product work with modernization of legacy components (including Oracle Forms/Reports upgrades) while enforcing performance, security, and data quality at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Delivery: Design, develop, and maintain secure, performant applications using Oracle APEX (v21+) and PL/SQL (packages, procedures, functions).
- Integration: Build and consume REST/SOAP APIs (ORDS or equivalent).
- Data & Pipelines: Collaborate with Data Engineering to define ETL/ELT jobs, canonical data models, validations, and lineage; ensure data completeness, reconciliation, and traceability for regulatory submissions.
- Quality & Observability: Write unit tests (e.g., utPLSQL), perform code reviews, optimize SQL (explain plans, indexing), and implement monitoring/alerting for jobs and user transactions.
- Security by Design: Apply RBAC, input validation, least-privilege, secret management, and data protection (PII handling, encryption in transit/at rest) aligned to financial-grade standards.
- Operations & Support: Troubleshoot production issues, execute root-cause analysis, and deliver hotfixes without compromising compliance or data integrity.
- Ways of Working: Participate in Agile ceremonies, estimation, and documentation (solution design, data contracts, migration runbooks, and support guides).
Requirements
Technical Skills:
- Oracle APEX (21+): Interactive reports, dynamic actions, security, performance tuning, and deploy ability across environments.
- Oracle Database / PL/SQL: Advanced SQL, query optimization, partitioning/indexing strategies, bulk operations, exception handling.
- APIs & Integration: ORDS, REST/SOAP, JSON/XML, OAuth2/JWT; experience integrating third-party risk/compliance services.
- ETL/ELT: Practical experience with frameworks or tools (e.g., ODI/Informatica/SSIS/dbt/Airflow/NiFi) and data modeling for financial domains.
- Frontend Fundamentals: Solid HTML/CSS/JavaScript for APEX customizations and component-level UX refinements.
- Quality & DevOps: Git, CI/CD concepts, automated testing for data and code paths; environment promotion and release hygiene.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or any other related field.
- 3–7 years of professional experience building enterprise applications on Oracle APEX/PL-SQL.
- Proven experience in banking/financial systems.
- Prior involvement in legacy upgrades (Oracle Forms/Reports → APEX) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Structured problem-solving, high ownership, and bias for measurable outcomes.
- Clear communicator with stakeholders across Compliance, Risk, Data, QA, and Infrastructure.
- Ability to balance production support with roadmap delivery and technical debt reduction.
Preferred to have:
- Experience with BPMN/workflow engines (e.g., Camunda/Flowable/Oracle Workflow) and rules engines.
- Regulatory Reporting: Engineer outputs for Central Bank and statutory reporting (e.g., XBRL/CSV/XML layouts, submission packs) with rigorous control checks and versioned templates.
- Modernization: Contribute to Oracle Forms/Reports → APEX upgrade initiatives; decompose legacy logic, migrate features, and harden performance and UX.
- Familiarity with data quality frameworks, metadata/lineage catalogs, or XBRL tooling.
- Exposure to BI/reporting (APEX charts, Oracle Analytics, or similar) and performance testing.
- Cloud familiarity (OCI/Azure) and containerization basics.
