Trade Supervisor

Job Overview

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As a Trade Supervisor, you will play a critical role in maintaining the stability, integrity, and performance of Optiver’s automated trading systems. Acting as the first responder to trading incidents, you will take ownership of issues from detection through to resolution, while ensuring clear communication with relevant stakeholders and implementing preventative measures. Having a decisive nature and problem-solving mindset are essential to succeeding in this role.
You will be supporting multiple automated trading strategies and have the following responsibilities:

  • Supervise and monitor our automated trading systems
  • Assess live trading activity for risk, compliance, and production issues, and respond decisively to unusual behaviour or market conditions
  • Collaborate with brokers, exchanges, and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve production issues in real time
  • Identify and drive structural improvements to system stability, monitoring, and operational processes
  • Document procedures and maintain accurate logs of incidents and resolutions

 

WHO YOU ARE:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a Trade Supervision, Trading, Risk, Application Engineering, or similar role
  • Prior trading exposure across asset classes and strategies highly desirable
  • An understanding of exchange-specific rules and procedures
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to operate independently under pressure
  • Excellent communication, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with high-frequency or automated trading systems is preferred
  • Experience with Python, Linux command line and the ability to extract and manipulate large data sets is preferred
