Financial Accountant
Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Financial Accountant to become a key member of our team, taking ownership of both internal and statutory reporting for our central and holding companies located in the UK. In this role, you'll represent intermediary and first-stage global holding companies that include entities with Gross Assets totaling USD$9.6 Billion. You'll be involved with a variety of global interests and transactions throughout the Culligan Group.
Culligan is on an exciting growth trajectory, functioning within a robust corporate framework. This position is part of the EMEA HQ team in the UK and reports directly to the EMEA Holdco Group Reporting Manager. Your key focus will be on supporting our significant and intricate entities, Osmosis Buyer Limited (“OBL”) and WLI (UK) Ltd. Notably, OBL is the main investment and funding vehicle for the entire Culligan Group, making precise reporting and a keen eye for detail crucial in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the evaluation of financial reporting adherence (both internal and external), encompassing U.S. GAAP, FRS102, and FRS101 statutory reporting, alongside internal controls.
- Assist in the monthly and quarterly financial processes to ensure precise and timely management reporting.
- Take the lead on reconciling monthly intercompany balance reconciliations, which include loan, trading, and cash pooling balances with our global partners.
- Conduct and/or assess assurance and control duties, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations (via Blackline).
- Prepare and/or review statutory accounts for UK central and holding companies.
- Compile and verify supporting documentation for year-end reporting, including audit and tax packs.
- Collaborate closely with the EMEA Holdco Reporting Manager and the broader finance leadership team to gain valuable insights into business performance, facilitating in-depth analysis and commentary for management reporting.
- Assist in or generate additional financial information as required, such as ONS surveys and internal requests.
- Deliver specific financial information and support as needed for internal projects and reporting.
- Identify and recommend potential controls and process enhancements when necessary.
- Help ensure compliance with Culligan's global accounting policies.
- Contribute to the training and development of financial analysts within the team.
- Engage in ad hoc project work to support the EMEA Holdco Reporting Manager and EMEA Holdco Finance Director.
Requirements
- Hold an ACA or ACCA qualification and min of 2 years post-qualification experience from a large company practice.
- Strong technical accountancy knowledge and experience including UK GAAP, US GAAP and FRS101 (preferably)
- Experience in auditing and preparing or reviewing accounts
- Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledgeable in financial systems
- Familiar with consolidated reporting systems
