The Finance Operations Analyst partners each Business Unit Manager and the Finance Business Partner to ensure the profitability of each business unit is optimised and strategic opportunities are developed and actioned.

 This role is responsible for analysing, monitoring, and reporting key financial and operational indicators and clearly communicating performance insights and improvement opportunities to the management team.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Analyse financial performance by reviewing key financial indicators to identify opportunities for improving profit, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain standard costings across seven manufacturing sites, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Act as key “owner” of inventory from the Finance team – developing and maintaining standard costs for manufactured products, finance oversight of stocktake schedule and counts.
  • Play a key role in the Profit Improvement Process (PIP) by identifying, evaluating, and tracking initiatives that drive profit growth and business performance.
  • Promoting margin improvement by providing and communicating accurate costing data,variances analysis.
  • Prepare regular reporting for sales and operations teams, covering customer performance, sales volumes, standard costs, variances, labour analysis, productivity metrics, and profitability.
  • Provide capex support, including developing product costings and preparing business cases.
  • Support tenders and negotiations with customers and suppliers by delivering timely, accurate financial analysis and costing information.
  • Assist with pricing reviews, calculating price changes in line with customer contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements, including prompt reporting of hazards and incidents.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Tertiary degree in Accounting/Finance; strong grounding in Management/Financial Accounting.
  • CA/CPA qualification preferred.
  • Proven experience (minimum six years) in a large manufacturing environment, with hands-on standard costing, labour/overhead analysis, and variance reporting.
  • Experience with SAP or another large ERP.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven track record communicating insights to non-finance stakeholders and driving measurable results.
