Role Overview:
As our Thumbnail Designer, you’ll be responsible for designing 1–3 weekly thumbnails for our IRL YouTube channels. You’ll collaborate with our creators and production team to create emotionally compelling, curiosity-driven visuals that drive clicks.
This is more than making things look pretty. It’s about understanding the story, the emotion, and the psychology behind why people click – and building a mini movie poster that makes someone feel like they have to know what happens next.
** Role is open to all LATAM **
Your responsibilities:
- Design 1–3 click-magnet thumbnails each week
- Come up with original thumbnail ideas that align with the core video message and emotional hook
- Use your Photoshop mastery and photo manipulation skills to create realistic, powerful visual composites. Keep assets organized for workflow ease on future projects.
- Coordinate with our production team to plan and capture the best possible assets such as facial expressions, framing, etc
- Meet deadlines consistently (and early, if you can)
- Research our previous thumbnail designs to adhere to our design style so our thumbnails have consistency and feel like “Yes Theory”, while also bringing your own creative flare
- Use performance data to tweak and improve thumbnail ideas for maximum impact
- Re-run past thumbnail tests with altered designs
Requirements
- Available to work Part-Time
- 1+ years experience in Graphic Design
- You work well in remote environments where creativity, speed, and quality all matter
- Strong sense of visual storytelling, emotion, and audience psychology
- You feel comfortable collaborating across creative teams (creators, editors, producers)
- You’re not afraid to take creative swings, learn from the misses, and iterate
- You're reliable and obsessed with the little details: lighting, angles, facial micro-expressions, color grades
- You don’t rely on AI only
Nice to have:
- Experience working with IRL, travel, or docu-style creators
- You’ve used CTR data and A/B tests to improve thumbnails
- You think like a viewer and title-writer
- You can shoot or direct thumbnail photo sessions
