Job Overview

The Opportunity

  • We're looking for a highly capable, hands-on MEP Estimation Engineer. This role is open to all nationalities (UAE / Gulf experience preferred).

What you'll do

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and pricing for MEP works (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, firefighting).
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and BOQs using software like CostX or PlanSwift.
  • Monitor project budgets, track actual costs, and prepare monthly cost reports with variance analysis.
  • Review subcontractor quotations, invoices, and variation claims for cost validation.
  • Support tender preparation by developing cost breakdowns, rate analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Conduct value engineering and cost optimization studies while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Ensure estimates comply with project specifications, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and Civil Defence standards.
  • Coordinate with planning, procurement, and site teams to align cost data with schedules and progress.
  • Maintain cost databases, historical rates, and material price libraries for future tenders.
  • Assist in cash flow forecasting, interim valuations, and final account preparation.

Qualifications

  • Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of MEP estimation / QS experience in UAE construction projects (residential / commercial preferred).
  • Proficiency in CostX, PlanSwift, Candy, or similar estimation software.
  • Basic knowledge of UAE construction contracts, FIDIC, and local regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good command of MS Excel for cost modeling and reporting.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
