The Role

Rolling Stone is seeking a relationship-driven, strategic Account Executive to join its partnerships team, focused on managing and growing a dedicated list of existing clients across Media & Entertainment, Beauty, and Fashion categories. This role is ideal for a consultative seller who excels at deepening client partnerships while identifying incremental growth opportunities across Rolling Stone’s multi-platform ecosystem.

The Account Executive will be responsible for stewarding key client relationships, delivering thoughtful, culture-forward solutions, and expanding revenue through integrated programs spanning digital, video, social, print, and live events. While new business development remains important, this role places a strong emphasis on client retention, client relationship building and the aim to and long-term revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a dedicated portfolio of existing clients across Media & Entertainment, Beauty, and Fashion categories as well as assisting the SVP, Head of Sales to develop new business opportunities across the West Region
  • Develop strategic, long-term partnerships by deeply understanding client business objectives, brand positioning, and marketing priorities
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across Rolling Stone’s digital, video, social, audio, print, and live event platforms
  • Present the marketing presentation for Rolling Stone to clients and agencies in a way that leads to increased opportunities and new revenue growth
  • Lead and execute integrated, 360° brand partnership programs including branded content, sponsorships, experiential activations, and media
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring excellent client service and campaign performance
  • Collaborate closely with internal editorial, creative, social, video, events, and marketing teams to deliver custom solutions
  • Manage the full sales cycle for assigned accounts, from proposal development through deal negotiation and execution
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting using CRM tools such as Salesforce

Qualifications & Experience

  • 4–7+ years of experience in media sales, brand partnerships, sponsorships, or account management at a media brand or ad tech company
  • Proven success managing and growing existing client relationships, preferably within Media & Entertainment, Beauty, and/or Fashion categories
  • Experience selling integrated programs across digital, video, social, print, and/or live events
  • Strong understanding of agency dynamics and brand-direct relationships
  • Strategic, consultative selling approach with the ability to identify incremental growth opportunities
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally in matrixed media organizations
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)

A good faith estimate of the salary range is $100k - $125k upon hire + Commission. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role.
