Dishwasher/Kitchen Steward

Pay rate: $16-$18

Role type: non-exempt

Essential Job Duties

· Load, run, and unload the dishwasher with utensils, glassware, cookware, plates, and trays in a fast and efficient manner. 

· Ensure all dishes are clean and sanitized before putting them away on dish racks.

· Maintain the dishwasher area to make sure it is clean and organized and that the wash cycle is always sanitary and operating at peak performance. 

· Mop and sanitize the dish room, kitchen floors, and dining room hallways, remove trash at the end of each shift to maintain safety and sanitation. 

· Sanitize work areas and adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations.

· Follow all safety procedures.

· Assist with deliveries and basic food preparation tasks.

· Safely operate a trash compactor and ensure cleanliness of the trash compactor area.

· Collaborate with kitchen team members to maintain efficient workflow and communicate effectively.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Previous dishwasher or kitchen steward experience in a high-volume environment.

· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.

· Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

· Must have excellent communication and teamwork skills.

· Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment and tools.

Physical Requirements

· Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel and reach for long periods of time.

· Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 lbs.
