Job Overview

Oak Tree Dental & Implant Centre is expanding, and we’re looking for a motivated, patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join our growing team on Fridays and Saturdays.

Due to increased patient demand, continued practice growth, and extended opening hours, this is an excellent opportunity for a hygienist seeking additional days in a well-established, supportive, and modern private practice.

The Role

  • Fridays: 14:15 – 17:00
  • 1 Saturday morning per month: 09:30 – 12:30
  • 4 modern, well-equipped surgeries
  • Fully private practice
  • Full support from an experienced and friendly team

You must be a GDC-registered Dental Hygienist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive dental hygiene treatments, including scaling, root planing, and polishing
  • Assess patients’ oral health and identify signs of periodontal disease
  • Provide preventative treatments such as fluoride applications
  • Educate patients on effective oral hygiene practices and lifestyle choices
  • Take and process dental radiographs in line with current guidelines
  • Maintain high standards of infection control and sterilisation
  • Work collaboratively with dentists and the wider team to ensure excellent patient care
  • Support anxious patients with empathy and clear communication
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using digital systems
  • Stay up to date with professional knowledge through ongoing CPD

Essential Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Dental Hygiene
  • Current registration with the General Dental Council (GDC)
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
  • Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a clinical setting
  • Strong clinical, organisational, and communication skills
  • Confident using electronic patient records and practice management systems
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

Desirable

  • Experience in periodontal disease management
  • Interest in oral health promotion and patient education
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Familiarity with modern dental technology and digital radiography
