Staff Frontend Engineer
FullTimeJob Overview
About POSH
We are all social creatures, but the dominant “social” companies today have evolved into digital loneliness machines, driving isolation, anxiety, and mental health challenges across our lives.
Human connection is lost. Posh is a beacon guiding us back.
Posh enables anyone to become an event organizer, build a community around their followers, and bring people together in person to cultivate real-world human connections. Founded by event enthusiasts and college dropouts, we’ve built the ultimate tools for creating, marketing, and monetizing in-person communities globally. In just three years, Posh has grown to a team of 60, expanded to 5M+ users, secured $40m in venture funding, and facilitated over $220M in transactions. We've achieved more than teams ten times our size in a tenth of the time—and there's so much more to come.
About The Role
At POSH, you’ll drive the technical strategy and shape the experiences that connect millions of people through live events. As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you’ll lead the development of highly-performant, scalable, and delightful user interfaces that power our web and mobile products. Your influence will extend beyond coding—you’ll shape frontend architecture, guide product direction, mentor senior engineers, and set the standard for frontend excellence across the organization.
This is an in-person position at our New York City office in the heart of SoHo, where you’ll play a pivotal role in revolutionizing how people connect in the real world.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and influence high-impact, cross-functional frontend initiatives with product, design, and engineering leadership.
Own and evolve the architecture of our web and mobile applications, driving best-in-class performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
Define and uphold organizational standards for frontend quality, scalability, developer experience, and design system consistency.
Partner closely with design and product teams to translate complex ideas into intuitive, beautiful user interfaces.
Mentor and grow senior engineers through coaching, workshops, and documentation; foster a culture of diverse thinking, constructive feedback, and continuous improvement.
Champion best practices in frontend tooling, testing, CI/CD, and code quality across multiple teams.
Balance rapid experimentation with sustainable, scalable design, driving forward both user experience and business growth.
Ideal Candidate:
10+ years of experience leading complex frontend projects at scale with significant organizational impact.
Deep expertise in modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, React Native, Next.js) and strong fundamentals in TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and web performance.
Proven track record shaping frontend architecture and technical strategy for consumer-facing products.
Experience mentoring and developing senior engineers, and building frameworks for org-wide growth and knowledge sharing.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence across technical, design, and product teams.
Experience with design systems, component libraries, and cross-platform interface development.
Background in consumer, social, or marketplace products a plus—especially those focused on building real-world communities.
