About the Role
PPLM is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator/HCA to support high‑quality, patient‑centered care. This hybrid role oversees daily laboratory operations and provides direct patient care under the supervision of licensed clinical staff. The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail‑oriented, and committed to equitable, inclusive healthcare.

Your Day to Day:


  • Laboratory Coordination (~25–30%)
  • Train staff in lab testing and maintain competency records.
  • Ensure accurate specimen handling and quality‑control documentation.
  • Oversee lab equipment maintenance and supply ordering.
  • Maintain compliance with DPH, OSHA, CLIA, PPFA, and PPLM standards.
  • Serve as point of contact for lab consultants.

  • Direct Patient Care / HCA Duties (~70–75%)
  • Provide compassionate patient support and assist during exams/procedures.
  • Take vital signs and document medical history per workflows.
  • Maintain accurate EHR documentation.
  • Clean and disinfect clinical spaces per safety standards.
  • Support recovery room functions and assist with clinical procedures.
  • Coordinate scheduling needs and facilitate interpretation services.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Medical lab technician certification preferred.1–3 years of experience in a healthcare clinic setting.
  • Experience with in‑office laboratory testing preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or training experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 30 lbs, moving throughout the health center for most of the shift, bending, and reaching with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must have sufficient oral, auditory, and visual abilities to ensure safe patient communication and care with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Able to respond effectively in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
  • Work schedule may include days, evenings, and some Saturdays.
  • Ability to travel between PPLM locations may be required
