Position Summary
The Director of Clinical Quality is responsible for agency‑wide oversight of clinical incident reporting, clinical audits, quality reporting, and infection prevention to ensure an excellent patient experience and full compliance with PPFA Medical Standards & Guidelines (MS&G) and applicable regulatory agencies (including OSHA, CLIA, MA DPH, Boston Public Health Commission, and Title X).
This role provides leadership to the Ultrasound Coordinator and PPLM’s RN Managers and requires regular presence across all PPLM health centers. The Director of Clinical Quality also serves as a clinical liaison in implementing new workflows and training Health Center Assistants (HCAs) and Registered Nurses.

Position Summary

Your Day to Day:


  • Clinical Quality Audits
  • Develop, update, manage, and monitor clinical quality audits in partnership with the Director of Clinical Services, CMO, Lead Clinicians, and RN Managers.
  • Assign audit responsibilities to licensed staff and managers.
  • Analyze audit results to identify areas of non‑compliance and develop system‑based corrective action plans.
  • Present audit findings at Clinical Quality & Infection Prevention Committee, Risk Quality Management, and All Clinicians meetings.
  • Oversee execution and monitoring of corrective action plans.
  • Incident Reporting
  • Oversee clinical incident reporting to ensure compliance with PPLM protocols.
  • Develop trend reports for health center leadership.
  • Analyze incident data and recommend system‑based solutions to improve compliance.
  • Present findings at Clinical Quality, Risk Quality Management, and All Clinicians/Staff meetings and ensure follow‑through on corrective actions.
  • Clinical Quality Reporting
  • Partner with Business Intelligence to develop data‑driven reports that improve clinical quality.
  • Oversee performance of population health reporting, lab reconciliation, Rh reports, and similar quality metrics.
  • Serve as clinical liaison to MA DPH for required reporting and oversee DPH access to PPLM’s EHR system.
  • Communicate report outcomes across sites to ensure continuous monitoring and improvement.
  • Clinical Standards
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to review, update, and maintain medical protocols.
  • Evaluate relevant regulatory correspondence and initiate policy changes.
  • Oversee clinical QA components of DPH SRH workplans.
  • Co‑lead accreditation preparation with Clinical Services leadership.
  • Compliance
  • Chair PPLM’s Clinical Quality & Infection Prevention Committee.
  • Serve on the Risk Quality Management Committee and support the development of clinical QA workplan items.
  • Conduct root cause analyses as needed.
  • Oversee accreditation preparation and annual clinical emergency drills.
  • Lead review and updates of clinical quality assurance and improvement policies.
  • Maintain and revise clinical manuals (Emergency Care, Infection Prevention, Exposure Control) to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Update prescribing formulary, standing orders, and medical abbreviations as needed.
  • Systems & Process Improvement
  • Partner with the Director of Clinical Services to advance EHR‑related clinical workflows.
  • Participate in Quality & Risk Board Subcommittee meetings.
  • Support clinical and operational process improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a clinical liaison for staff training, employee health clearance, vaccination programs, and workers’ compensation follow‑up.
  • Perform additional special projects as assigned.
  • Clinical Care & Operations
  • Provide clinical care (approximately 20%) as an Advanced Practice Clinician; maintain all required licensure and certifications.
  • Contribute to PPLM productivity goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in an OB/GYN setting; family planning experience strongly preferred.
  • BA/BS and Advanced Practice Clinician certification (NP, CNM, or PA) required; must hold a valid Massachusetts license.
  • Extensive knowledge of women’s health and family‑planning care.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance and risk‑management principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across administrative and clinical teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for statewide travel
  • Knowledge of OSHA and CLIA guidelines required.
  • Familiarity with PPFA, ARMS, DPH, DEA, CDC, and Title X standards preferred.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project‑management skills.
