The Program Director provides direct patient care in family planning and abortion services consistent with PPLM’s mission, values, and standards, as well as with PPFA, Title X, MA Department of Public Health, OSHA, CLIA, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
The PD serves as the APC in charge while in clinic, supervises SRH APC Residents, and leads all aspects of program development, clinical training, operations, and evaluation in partnership with the Associate Director and clinical leadership team. The Program Director also manages relationships with external stakeholders, supports QI initiatives, and ensures long‑term program sustainability.

Your Day to Day:
- Provide direct patient care in family planning and abortion services; collaborate with health center staff to support high‑quality patient flow and care delivery.
- Deliver clinical education aligned with PPLM protocols and regulatory standards.
- Manage and supervise the residents’ clinical didactic curriculum.
- Serve as an on‑site clinical lead and resource for APC and HCA staff.
- Direct staff to appropriate clinical and operational resources for urgent or complex situations.
- Follow PPLM procedures for abnormal results and referrals.
- Precept residents in family planning and abortion services.
- Oversee onboarding, chart review, and evaluation of new residents in collaboration with preceptors.
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the APC SRH Residency Program.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director on program evaluation and reporting.
- Maintain and develop internal and external partnerships, including academic collaborators.
- Work with Research & Clinical Training Team to refine program structure and content.
- Coordinate administrative support with program assistants.
- Maintain relationships with program sponsors to ensure program stability and sustainability.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities for residents, including conferences and presentations.
- Lead recruitment, selection, hiring, and onboarding processes for residents in partnership with HR.
- Provide timely feedback, conduct evaluations, and build individualized learning plans.
- Create monthly clinical schedules in partnership with health center leadership.
- Participate in ASPIRE clinical training meetings and program budgeting.
- Support strategic planning, program development, improvement initiatives, and fundraising efforts.
- Support organizational productivity and quality improvement goals.
- Participate in key clinical meetings (lead clinician, CQIP, management, scheduling).
- Partner with the Director of CQI to identify QI priorities aligned with residency support.
- Support resident QI projects from conception to implementation.
- Identify and facilitate QI‑related educational opportunities for residents.
- Support organization‑wide APC Grand Rounds to address clinical knowledge gaps.
- Ensure compliance with standards set by PPLM, PPFA, Title X, MA DPH, OSHA, CLIA, and other regulatory bodies.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support program and organizational success.
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 20 lbs, navigating clinic spaces for most of the shift, and meeting communication and sensory demands essential for patient care.

Other Duties
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse‑Midwife, or Physician Assistant.
- Active MA licensure, Federal DEA registration, and MA Controlled Substances Registration (MCSR).
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in sexual and reproductive health, including medication abortion and LARC procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in clinical or academic settings.
- Experience with Clinical Quality Improvement (CQI).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Commitment to team‑based care, continuous learning, and mentorship.
- Preferred: experience in program development and quality improvement initiatives.
