The System Administrator is responsible for the design, administration, and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure across office and field operations. The role serves as a technical advisor to internal stakeholders and leadership, translating business needs into infrastructure and systems solutions.
What You Will Do
- Manage, support, monitor, secure, and maintain LANs, WANs, network segments, and ISP connectivity across offices and jobsites.
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain servers, cloud services, Windows Server operating systems, business applications, security tools, and enterprise hardware.
- Administer, monitor and maintain, Microsoft Server/Client system network services including AD/DHCP/DNS/GPO.
- Design, deploy, and support network infrastructure including file servers, VPN gateways, firewalls, and network services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues while maintaining system integrity, security, and uptime.
- Administer desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, phones, and related peripherals.
- Establish and enforce system standards, policies, and best practices for lifecycle management and reliability to support organizational objectives
- Evaluate and recommend technologies, vendors, and solutions based on business needs, scalability, cost, and risk
- Assess infrastructure-related risks and determine appropriate mitigation strategies with minimal oversight.
- Collaborate with IT teammates and internal stakeholders on projects and system improvements.
- Take ownership and accountability for assigned responsibilities.
- Contribute to foundational project management, documentation, and end-user training.
What You Will Need to be Successful
- 5+ years of experience in a System Administrator or similar role, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of five years of enterprise-level networking experience.
- Strong knowledge of networking, operating systems, hardware, security best practices, and business continuity.
- Proven troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with PowerShell scripting and working knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, WatchGuard, and Nutanix AHV.
- Experience with additional scripting or programming languages to support automation and systems integration.
- Experience with managing enterprise backbone network infrastructure including Cisco IOS or Dell OS10 switching.
- Experience with Cloud based identity management solutions, EDR, SEIM, and SOAR.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
