We are seeking a Health & Safety Officer with proven expertise in occupational health and safety, strong attention to detail, and a passion for the retail sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation across stores, warehouses, and offices.
- Conduct regular inspections of retail premises to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Carry out risk assessments for retail operations (e.g., manual handling, slips and trips, fire safety, use of equipment).
- Monitor and maintain emergency exits, fire safety systems, first aid kits, and safety signage.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend improvements.
- Organize and deliver staff training on workplace safety, first aid, fire evacuation, and safe customer interactions.
- Support Store Managers in implementing safety measures and ensuring employees follow safety procedures.
- Coordinate emergency drills (e.g., fire evacuations) and ensure staff readiness.
- Maintain records of safety inspections, training sessions, and compliance audits.
- Promote a strong safety culture to protect both employees and customers within retail environments.
Qualifications:
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Retail sector
- Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
- Strong initiative, problem-solving and results-oriented mindset
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High levels of integrity and work ethics
- Excellent command of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent knowledge of Greek and English languages
