THE ROLE

As a Principal Recruiter, you will be the primary recruiting partner for multiple lines of business, with a strong focus on technical talent. You’ll lead strategic talent discussions with senior leadership and translate workforce and headcount plans into clear, data‑informed hiring strategies. In this role, you’ll align Talent Acquisition, HR, and Finance so priorities are understood, realistic, and properly resourced.

You’ll operate as an account manager and trusted advisor, serving as the go‑to talent acquisition partner for your business groups. This role goes beyond filling positions—it’s about building sustainable, strategic talent partnerships, promoting innovation in recruiting practices, and driving continuous improvement across the TA function.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Serve as the primary recruiting partner for senior leaders across a region, business unit, or function, understanding goals, structure, and talent needs.
  • Serve as the primary recruiting partner to senior leaders and own end-to-end recruiting for high-impact, complex roles across the business.
  • Partner with HRBPs and Finance to ensure hiring plans and workforce forecasts are realistic, achievable, effectively prioritized, and aligned with hiring pacing and budget utilization.
  • Translate workforce and headcount plans into actionable recruiting strategies, informed by internal insights, external market intelligence, and business priorities.
  • Use workforce analytics, AI‑driven tools, and scenario planning to inform strategic talent decisions and remove systemic blockers in capacity, process, or role prioritization.
  • Challenge existing processes and assumptions, proposing innovative approaches to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and candidate experience, and sharing them with TA peers.
  • Lead initiatives to innovate recruiting practices and streamline processes, while designing interview and assessment frameworks aligned to core competencies, role expectations, and strong inclusive outcomes.
  • Ensure fairness, consistency, and data quality in recruiting activities; champion ethical and inclusive hiring practices.
  • Influence and mentor TA team members, while partnering with Sourcers and Recruiting Coordinators to drive an efficient, high‑quality hiring process.

We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Proven experience leading complex, high‑impact, and senior‑level searches across business functions, with strong sourcing strategies, candidate assessment skills, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with market intelligence, recruitment marketing, and technology platforms to drive talent acquisition effectiveness.
  • Deep understanding of business operations, organizational design, and workforce planning, with the ability to translate business strategy into actionable recruiting plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret hiring data, workforce analytics, and pipeline metrics, and apply forecasting, scenario modeling, and planning to inform and support talent strategy.
  • Ability to challenge conventional approaches and scale innovative recruiting solutions across distributed teams while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Skilled in data storytelling—presenting complex insights clearly for decision‑making—paired with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to engage effectively with senior leaders.
  • Executive‑level communication skills and experience engaging senior business leaders.
  • Leads through trust, influence, and innovation, without relying on formal authority.
  • Mentors and influences other TA colleagues, promoting innovation, adoption of new practices, and continuous improvement.
