We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.

This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.

Pure is seeking a Value Consultant to join our Global Value Management team. In this role, you will independently lead value workstreams, develop compelling customer value propositions, and build validated business cases that help customers fully realize the economic impact of Pure Storage’s data platform.

You will work closely with internal partners and customers stakeholders across IT, Finance, Procurement and Operations to quantify cost savings, operational improvements, risk reduction, and business outcomes. This role requires strong analytical thinking, a consultative mindset, and the ability to translate technical infrastructure and operational insights into clear, defensible commercial and financial impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

Business Case Development

  • Own and maintain customer business cases across the engagement lifecycle, validating inputs, documenting assumptions, and producing customer-ready models in cash-flow and P&L formats.
  • Confidently present completed business cases and guide conversations using scenario modelling, risk framing, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Use benchmark datasets and previous customer insights to standardize and improve repeatable modelling workflows.

Customer Value & Value Proposition Development

  • Develop targeted, outside-in customer value assessments that quantify economic impact across cost, sustainability, revenue, productivity, and risk.
  • Build and present compelling value propositions aligned to customer priorities, using insight gathered from internal teams, external research, and multilayered customer discovery.
  • Explain and defend selected value levers with clarity for both business and technical stakeholders.

Lead Financial Value Workstream

  • Independently lead the financial value workstream within large customer opportunities - owning modelling steps, timelines, data requests, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Maintain strong project discipline including version control, assumption tracking, and risk identification to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop reusable financial models, templates, and new value levers to continuously improve the Value Management practice.

Consultative Discovery & Insight Development

  • Conduct structured discovery across IT, Finance, Procurement, Operations, and Business Units to gather accurate data and build aligned value hypotheses.
  • Partner with customer stakeholders and Executive teams to confirm assumptions and refine value outputs.
  • Collaborate with Finance and other internal groups to shape commercial strategies that align pricing to quantifiable value.

What You’ll Bring

Core Skills & Experience

  • Strong analytical capability and numerical literacy, with experience in financial analysis, consulting, IT, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in building financial models in Google Sheets, Excel, or similar tools.
  • Ability to validate datasets, make justified assumptions, manage data integrity, and document models clearly.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Clear, effective communication and storytelling skills with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.
  • Comfort engaging directly with customer teams across IT, Finance, Procurement, Operations, and Executive levels.

Consultative & Strategic Thinking

  • Curiosity and the ability to learn quickly, adapting to new information and customer contexts.
  • A strategic mindset that connects infrastructure choices to business outcomes, risk profiles, and financial models.

Professional Discipline & Collaboration

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work cross-functionally, and operate effectively under pressure.
  • Rigor in assumption tracking, governance, accuracy, and model consistency.

Preferred Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent experience with strong financial foundations.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure—or willingness and aptitude to learn it quickly.
  • Experience with value quantification, ROI tools, or economic modelling frameworks.
