Senior Manager - Design Procurement Support

Job Overview

Role Overview

  •  Mid-senior role within Design Excellence, part of CDU.
  • Provides operational leadership and hands-on support to Business Units for consultant engagement.
  • Acts as a key facilitator for world-class design consultants across all disciplines.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of procurement processes, governance, and standardized tools for consultant engagement
  • Assist in maintaining consultant database and contribute to development of templates and guidelines.
  • Ensure consistent, value-driven engagement across multiple project types and scales.

Candidate Profile

  • Experienced professional in design and development across multiple sectors.
  • Proven experience in KSA or GCC large-scale projects.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and deliver within a complex organization

Strategic Leadership

  • Support the Director in implementing DPS frameworks and tools for consultant engagement.
  • Act as liaison between Business Units and consultants to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation in consultant management practices.

Data & Performance Management

  • Assist in maintaining a centralized consultant directory with performance metrics.
  • Ensure data accuracy and provide insights for informed decision-making.
  • Prepare dashboards and reports for consultant performance tracking.

Standardization

  • Contribute to development of templates, guidelines, and procedures (e.g., Design Brief, Selection Guideline).
  • Support compliance with design standards and procurement policies.
  • Monitor adoption and provide feedback for process improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with Business Units to align consultant capabilities with project needs.
  • Maintain relationships with consultants and industry partners.
  • Represent DPS in internal meetings and support external engagement activities

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Design, Project Management, or related design field (supported by relevant experience).
  • Property Development qualifications or certifications are an advantage.
  • Professional registration with an internationally recognized body preferred.

Skills:

Design & Development Expertise

  • Experience across the full project lifecycle, identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Familiarity with design management procedures and guidelines from large-scale projects.
  • Understanding of consultant engagement strategies and procurement processes.

Strategic & Technical Competence

  • Ability to solve problems using innovative and lateral thinking.
  • Knowledge of KSA regulatory environment and codes for multiple design typologies.
  • Experience tracking project progress and compliance with KPIs.

Leadership & Communication

  • Focused on efficiency and quality in processes.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Technology & Tools

  • Proficient in MS Office suite; advanced Excel and Power BI preferred.
  • Comfortable with digital collaboration platforms and data-driven reporting.
  • Ability to leverage technology for process optimization.

Years of Experience:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in design, development, and governance roles.
  • Experience in KSA or GCC large-scale projects is essential.
  • Client-side experience in real estate or property development is an advantage.
