Position Overview

The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate CNC programs and up-to-date file revisions for customer parts. This role includes interpreting engineering drawings, creating flat pattern layouts, collaborating with engineering teams, and reverse engineering components to support manufacturing. The position also involves selecting the appropriate machines, tooling, and materials to ensure efficient and cost-effective production, while preparing detailed work instructions and setup documentation. CAD/CAM software will be used to improve programming efficiency and reduce cycle times.

The position also involves selecting the appropriate machines, tooling, and materials to ensure efficient and cost-effective production, while preparing detailed work instructions and setup documentation. CAD/CAM software will be used to improve programming efficiency and reduce cycle times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret work orders, blueprints, orthographic drawings, and GD&T requirements to plan machining operations
  • Create, modify, and maintain G-code programs using CAM software
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure alignment between design and production requirements
  • Apply knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, bend allowances/deductions, turret punch tooling, and cost efficiency in sheet metal processes
  • Work closely with quality teams to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and customer specifications
  • Develop detailed work instructions, including setup sheets and assembly guidelines

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of CNC programming experience
  • Strong background in creating and editing G-code
  • Proficiency with CAM software such as SolidWorks, TekSoft, or similar platforms
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Solid math skills, including geometry and trigonometry
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Knowledge of tool management practices
  • High level of attention to detail

Preferred

  • Experience in sheet metal manufacturing
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Background in process improvement initiatives
  • Experience with inventory or supply chain management
