We are looking for a Windows Server and VM Support Analyst to manage the full lifecycle of Windows-based infrastructure. This role focuses on provisioning, patching, monitoring, and maintaining Windows servers and virtualization platforms, ensuring high availability, security compliance, and optimal performance across environments.
Responsibilities:
- Build, configure, and maintain Windows servers, VM clusters, and virtual machines;
- Join systems to domains and apply security baselines and Group Policies;
- Monitor OS and VM health (services, logs, performance metrics) and resolve issues;
- Execute monthly patching cycles and validate application functionality post-update;
- Troubleshoot authentication issues, GPO application problems, and access control;
- Maintain backup solutions and perform regular restore testing for DR readiness;
- Track end-of-life systems and plan upgrades or migrations;
- Manage TLS/certificates for services (IIS, RDP, LDAP);
- Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks (CPU, memory, disk, network);
- Ensure antivirus/EDR agents are operational and compliant;
- Maintain accurate documentation (runbooks, diagrams, CMDB data);
- Support application teams with infrastructure dependencies and connectivity;
- Optimize monitoring thresholds and reduce alert noise;
- Participate in disaster recovery testing and documentation;
- Enforce least privilege access and secure service account practices;
- Deliver regular operational KPIs and reporting.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in Windows Server administration (Active Directory, GPOs, services, registry);
- Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix or similar);
- Knowledge of patch management tools and troubleshooting update failures;
- Understanding of TLS/PKI and certificate lifecycle management;
- Experience with performance monitoring tools (PerfMon, Event Viewer);
- Basic PowerShell scripting skills;
- Familiarity with endpoint security tools (EDR/AV);
- Experience working with CMDB/ITSM systems;
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills;
- Good communication and documentation abilities.
