Job Overview

The Rackspace Global Pricing Team has a pivotal role in developing pricing strategy, engaging in complex commercial pursuits to understand and communicate financial positions and pricing decisions, and working cross-functionally with the wider business teams to instill financial excellence. Within this team, the successful candidate will be a major contributor to developing the tools and resources to define and implement the Global Pricing Strategy. Daily tasks include analyzing and identifying key financial information and trends to advise, drive and influence key commercial decisions.
 
We are looking for someone who can work under pressure, maintain high standards of deliverables and attention to detail, who thinks in a structured way and is highly analytical, and demonstrates excellent communication skills. A successful candidate should be able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and projects, be curious about technology, willing to learn as well as educate, and should have a very strong understanding of financial concepts and their commercial applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to sales and support organizations with regards to the best commercial approach for strategically significant accounts and opportunities
  • Work with product and offering managers from end-to-end to develop financial models for new product unit economics as well as custom client-specific commercials
  • Partner with global business and operational teams to ensure pricing strategy is defined and delivered consistently across geographies and segments
  • Help drive profitability through the provision of quality management information and commercial advice
  • Drive and support continuous pricing process and tool refinement and improvement by applying a solid understanding of internal business processes and policies

Key Performance Indicators

  • Understand complex business issues and make appropriate recommendations by applying subject matter expertise, rigorous financial modeling, and considerable commercial judgement
  • Maintain and develop pricing tools, product unit economics, and business case models
  • Ensure that business leaders are taking healthy financial decisions and that the company’s overall financial targets are achieved
  • Evaluate profitability and margins for customers through objective and data-driven analysis
  • Track and measure the margin realization and overall profitability of new product launches and large strategic deals against initial business case projections
  • Improve tools enhancing the understanding of financial performance by the business

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Business Administration/Finance/Economics; MBA or equivalent preferred
  • 4+ years of relevant working experience highly desirable
  • Self-starter that takes ownership of issues and drives them toward a conclusion
  • Able to succeed in a fast, high-growth and fairly unstructured work environment
  • Ability to dig into details as well as analyze data from a high level view
  • Advanced Excel skills, and experience with data analytics and complex commercial models
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal/networking skills.
  • Team player with an open and internal customer focused approach
