Content Writer

About the Role

We're looking for a tech-savvy Content Writer who can blend compelling storytelling with technical execution. You'll create content that educates, engages, and converts while managing the technical aspects of publishing and optimization. Your writing will directly impact our organic growth as you craft SEO-optimized content that ranks on both traditional search engines and AI platforms.

You'll be responsible for producing high-quality articles, product descriptions, blog posts, and educational content while handling the end-to-end publishing process in WordPress. You'll also optimize content for discoverability across Google search and emerging AI search platforms, playing a key role in driving organic traffic and customer education.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation: Write clear, compelling, and accurate content about diamonds, jewelry, and the engagement ring buying process for various audiences and formats.

WordPress Management: Publish, edit, and format content directly in WordPress, including uploading images, creating layouts, and ensuring mobile responsiveness.

HTML Editing: Make basic HTML edits within WordPress to optimize formatting, add custom elements, and troubleshoot display issues.

SEO Optimization: Research keywords, optimize content for search engines (title tags, meta descriptions, headers, internal linking), and implement SEO best practices.

AI Search Optimization: Adapt content strategies for visibility in AI-powered search platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, etc.).

Content Testing: Monitor content performance and collaborate with the marketing team to refine strategies based on analytics and ranking data.

Research & Accuracy: Stay current on diamond industry trends, competitor content, and search algorithm updates to keep our content fresh and authoritative.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in content writing, preferably for e-commerce, DTC, or technical industries
• Proficiency in WordPress (publishing, editing, media management, basic troubleshooting)
• Working knowledge of HTML for content formatting and basic customization
• Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals (keyword research, on-page optimization, content structure)
• Familiarity with AI search optimization and how content appears in AI-generated responses
• Experience with SEO tools (Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or similar platforms)
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail
• Ability to translate complex technical topics into accessible, engaging content
• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple content projects independently

Bonus Points:

• Experience writing about jewelry, luxury goods, or high-consideration purchases
• Knowledge of schema markup and structured data
• Familiarity with content management beyond WordPress (Shopify, headless CMS, etc.)
• Background in DTC, e-commerce, or high-growth startups
• Understanding of conversion-focused content writing
