As a Software Team Lead with Redis AI Services, you will assume a hands-on leadership position for a team of talented engineers to deliver scalable, reliable, and production-grade services. You will lead and uphold software excellence and engineering best practices, applying your expertise to transform Redis’ capabilities - focusing on memory and context capabilities for chatbots and agents, as part of our fast-growing AI Services portfolio. It’s a hands-on leadership position that blends deep software engineering leadership, thoughtful decision-making, and execution of high-impact product initiatives

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and Grow a High-Performing Engineering Team. Mentor and guide engineers to deliver high-quality software at speed, guided by strong engineering practices, pragmatic design, and adaptable testing. 
  • Drive Agile Execution and Decision-Making. Instill a culture of rapid iteration and data-informed decision-making to balance short-term product delivery goals with the long-term roadmap.
  • Evolve the AI Services Platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AI research, product, and cloud infrastructure to evolve Redis’ AI offerings into robust, customer-ready services.
  • Operational Leadership. Define and monitor SLAs, SLOs, and KPIs. Build strong observability, incident management, and release pipelines to maintain high service availability and velocity.
  • Recruit and Develop Talent. Hire top engineers and foster a culture of technical curiosity, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Need to Have

  • 6+ years of experience as a software engineer in backend, cloud, or distributed systems, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
  • Proven success leading product-focused engineering teams delivering highly available, customer-facing services and features.
  • Strong background in software design and architecture for scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Proficiency in one or more back-end programming languages: Go, Java, Python, or similar.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, observability (Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger), and performance tuning.
  • Ability to define and track operational metrics, ensuring continuous improvement in reliability, quality, and delivery speed.

Extra Great If You Have

  • Hands-on experience building and operating cloud-native services using Kubernetes, Terraform, Argo CD, or similar technologies.
  • Experience productionizing AI/ML systems, including model-serving or AI-driven features.
  • Experience with building and orchestrating AI agents using modern agent frameworks (LangGraph or equivalent).
  • Experience with Redis and its ecosystem.
  • Contributions to open-source projects in distributed systems, data infrastructure, or AI tooling.
