About the role

We are looking for a CFO Co-founder to co-build an AI-driven startup focused on automating accounting and financial processes for modern businesses.

This is a hands-on founder role, not a corporate executive position.

You will be responsible for shaping the financial, accounting, and compliance backbone of the company — from designing financial models and accounting logic behind the product, through building finance and reporting processes, to co-managing the company together with the founding team. Your mission is to ensure that our accounting automation platform is built on real-world accounting expertise, correct financial logic, and scalable financial processes - combining finance, accounting practice, product thinking, and startup execution in an early-stage, high-uncertainty environment.

Your responsibilities

As CFO Co-founder, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and overseeing the company’s financial and accounting architecture,

  • Ensuring that product automation logic reflects real accounting and bookkeeping workflows,

  • Translating accounting and tax processes into structured, automatable financial logic,

  • Validating how accounting offices operate and how bookkeeping is performed in practice,

  • Building financial models, forecasts, and unit economics,

  • Designing budgeting, cash-flow, and financial control processes,

  • Overseeing accounting, reporting, and compliance frameworks,

  • Supporting the design of accounting automation features from a domain-expert perspective,

  • Cooperating closely with product and tech teams to align automation with accounting reality,

  • Preparing investor financial materials and data rooms,

  • Leading fundraising, financial preparation and investor communication,

  • Designing internal finance and reporting processes from scratch,

  • Setting up financial KPIs and performance dashboards,

  • Co-managing the company together with the founding team,

  • Supporting pricing, packaging, and revenue model decisions,

  • Shaping company culture around ownership, accountability, and financial discipline.

Who we are looking for (Must-have)

  • Strong professional experience in finance and accounting,

  • Practical knowledge of how accounting offices operate and how bookkeeping is performed,

  • Experience working with accounting processes, financial reporting, and compliance,

  • Background as CFO, Head of Finance, Finance Manager, Chief Accountant, or similar,

  • Experience working with or inside accounting firms / finance departments,

  • Understanding of bookkeeping, accounting workflows, and financial controls,

  • Ability to translate accounting processes into structured rules and logic,

  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting,

  • An analytical mindset and strong financial modelling skills,

  • Entrepreneurial mindset: ownership, speed, and accountability,

  • Ability to operate in early-stage, high-uncertainty environments,

  • Strong communication skills with product and technical teams,

  • C1+ level of spoken and written English and Polish.

Nice to have

  • Experience in fintech, accounting tech, or ERP systems,

  • Experience working with automation in finance or accounting,

  • Exposure to B2B SaaS business models,

  • Previous startup or scale-up experience,

  • Fundraising or investor collaboration experience,

  • Experience working with AI-driven financial or accounting tools.
