What is The Role
We're looking to add a new node to our cluster, focusing on educating and inspiring developers to build on Elasticsearch. This PMM will need to communicate with and create content for very technical audiences, spanning messaging, positioning, campaign support, and field enablement. You will work closely with Elastic product managers, engineers, sales, and partners across the marketing organization. You’ll need to become comfortable with the technical aspects of Elastic’s products, solutions, and markets, as well as the creative aspects of positioning technology through compelling, authentic, and differentiated narratives!
What You Will Be Doing
- Serve as a PMM lead for Elastic’s Search product suite, owning the strategy to drive awareness and market penetration for core features and use cases
- Serve as the internal authority on the developer persona.
- Craft compelling, technical, and differentiated outbound product messaging and content—including blogs, videos, tutorials, web pages, and webinars—that resonate with developers.
- Empower the field team on our solutions through specialized training and content.
- Build and implement plans to reach and foster relationships with our developer and technology partner ecosystem.
- Build strong partnerships with peers in Product Management, Engineering, and Community to effectively launch new features and engage with users.
- Plan and implement product launches (collaborating with operational marketing teams), including the creation and distribution of launch materials.
- Attend and present at Elastic events, third-party trade shows, and industry conferences to showcase our products to technical audiences.
What You Bring
- 5–10 years of experience in product marketing for technical products.
- A proven track record of effectively marketing to developers or technical practitioners.
- Curiosity about the “how” of technology combined with the ability to tell compelling stories about the “why.”
- The ability to work in a highly cross-functional role within a distributed team.
- Excellent and concise writing skills targeted at developers and technical personas.
- Experience acting as a spokesperson for product capabilities and Elastic at large for internal and external audiences (including webinars, trainings, and analyst briefings).
- Product marketing experience with technical SaaS or infrastructure products.
- Experience crafting engaging content for developers,
- Comfort driving cross-functional teams and initiatives
