ALSO is looking for a Staff Field Integration and Quality Engineer to lead the integration of drive units, batteries, inverters, displays, and various low voltage electronics!
What You Will Do
Assist in the new product introduction of new products and platforms
Present findings to engineering teams and leadership to drive resolution.
Hands on troubleshooting using proprietary CAN tools.
Reproduce faults, pull logs, decode DTCs, run isolation tests, identify root cause (HW vs FW vs calibration vs harness), and validate fixes with structured re-tests
Support pilot & ‘fleet’ running: prep vehicles for pilots, commission telematics, and close the loop with field ops on uptime
Maintain and update Fleet firmware using OTA updates.
Maintain and update service troubleshooting manuals based on new learnings.
Work with service partners to gather additional insight into field failures.
Travel to customer locations to gather additional insight on failure modes
Stand up processes to review incoming telemetry data to
Gather trends around overall product health and reliability
Estimate component repairs/ replacements + Cost
Drive design and diagnostic changes based on real world data
Build clear data visualization tools and dashboards to support telemetry data ingest
Process field return parts to determine root cause using 8D
Train Technicians and service professionals on service tools and new processes.
What You Will Bring
BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
5+ years of professional experience working with Embedded Systems.
3+ years working on new product introduction
Hands-on electronics & HV awareness: comfortable working around up to 100V+ systems (per local regs), using Digital Multi Meters, oscilloscopes, insulation testers, CAN analyzers, and HV PPE
Exposure to Service tools
Exposure to Cloud services
Basic SQL, Python skills to process data.
Planning and organization tools (JIRA/Confluence)
Working knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, CAN FD, SPI) and Vector tools
Ability to define and request new features on bike and in the cloud to help with engineering
Powertrain & charging basics: BMS fundamentals (cell balancing, SoC/SoH), motor/inverter concepts (FOC, torque limits, derates), charger protocols, and safety interlocks for swap & plug-in
Test discipline: follow DVP&R, write reproducible test cases, keep immaculate logs, tag firmware/hardware revisions, and maintain traceability from fault → fix → verification
The salary for this position ranges from $180,000-$210,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
