Junior Project Engineer

The Project Engineer acts as the technical link between project planning and physical implementation. This role is responsible for ensuring the technical accuracy of project deliveries (Design, Implementation, and Network) and serves as a key point of contact for internal and external customers. The Project Engineer conducts site surveys and develops detailed fiber specifications and implementation plans that adhere to company standards. Post-allocation of resources, they monitor the build process to resolve technical roadblocks, manage vendor quality, and ensure the final "As-Built" documentation is accurate and complete.

Duties and responsibilities
- Ensure work flow and logistics of projects is efficient, e.g. have all tools, consumables in good condition and ready and available for each project
- Maintain and manage tools such as calibration of fusion splicers
- Ensure OHS standards are met or exceeded in terms of PPE
- Identify areas for process improvement and solutions to implement
- Manage team members’ daily work schedule/allocation based on project requirements or company targets
- Supervise day to day operations across builds
- Perform fiber layout and design or produce fiber network design documents
- Document and maintain as-built documentation and networked sites/buildings
Qualifications
- Open to Fresh Graduates
- Skills in any design tools e.g. QGIS, Autocad, Visio, Mapinfo, ENE, etc.
- Adaptable and can work with minimum supervision
- Strong communication skills and command of English
- Understanding of physical construction requirements
- Knowledgeable in telecommunications system design
- Knowledgeable in inside plant and outside plant passive optical networks (or similar)
- Strong documentation skills and can use Google Suites or MS Office
- Ability to drive a manual vehicle (preferred but not required)
Preferred
- Degree in relevant area,
- International experience
- Experience in a similar role
- Strong OSP/ISP and/or fiber skills
- Experience on GPON networks would be advantageous
Working conditions
- Travel may be required
- Overtime may be required to meet deadlines
- Shift schedule as determined by line head
- On-call duties will apply
- After hours obligations may apply
- Will be working outdoors in some cases
