Department Overview
The Commercial Department shapes the strategic direction of our food offering across all markets—Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Germany, and Romania. Our goal is to drive innovation, strengthen supplier partnerships, and ensure profitability while delighting customers with outstanding assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies.
Role Overview
The Category Manager is responsible for managing and growing assigned product categories. The role focuses on optimizing assortment, pricing, and promotions to achieve sales and margin targets, while building strong supplier relationships and ensuring a compelling customer offer.
Working closely with the Senior Category Manager, the Category Manager translates category strategies into actionable plans and coordinates with internal stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.
Main stakeholders include local and central Category Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and suppliers.
What we expect from you
Owns the commercial performance of assigned categories and/or subcategories.
Leads supplier negotiations and category reviews for designated suppliers.
Partners with Marketing and Supply Chain to deliver promotions and manage stock levels.
Provides input to category strategy and Joint Business Plans led by the Senior Category Manager.
Supports implementation of new product introductions and seasonal ranges.
Receives updates from suppliers and internal teams on product availability, pricing, and market trends.
What we look for / what we require
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in category management, buying, or account management in FMCG or e-commerce.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
Experience managing multiple suppliers and product lines.
Fluency in the local language and English.
Preferred:
Experience with e-commerce merchandising or digital retail channels.
Knowledge of local FMCG supplier networks.
