Ground Control Engineering
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Ground Control Engineer with experience in Geotechnics and Hydrogeology to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability of open pits, waste dumps, and providing essential support to tailings dumps. The role requires technical expertise in slope stability, hydrogeology, dewatering design, and surface water management. This position will offer a dynamic opportunity to participate in a variety of engineering and operations tasks, providing stability to critical mine infrastructure and contributing to the success of ongoing projects.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Engineering
Perform slope stability analysis and assess waste dumps.
Develop and update surface water management plans and maps annually.
Design surface water infrastructure and drainage projects.
Conduct pump analysis and wall compliance reviews (quarterly).
Update geotechnical models with pit development (quarterly).
Collaborate with consultants on geotechnical and hydrogeology designs.
Contribute to OPEX and CAPEX projects for continuous operations.
Provide technical support for drill and blast practices.
Assist in the development of LoM dewatering plans.
Operations
Follow up on outstanding projects and present updates in weekly meetings.
Conduct pit and waste dump inspections.
Review geotechnical data and assist with pump discharge checks.
Provide geotechnical recommendations for stabilization and remediation.
Support Junior Ground Engineers and track outstanding issues.
Update hazard maps and perform structural analysis.
Lead surface drainage projects and conduct site visits.
