Job Overview

As an HR Advisor, Employee Engagement & Labor Relations at Rosebel Gold Mines N.V., you will play a crucial role in fostering positive relationships between the company and its employees. Your primary responsibilities will include handling employee grievances, conduct investigations, and provide guidance on labor laws, resolve workplace conflicts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Promote sound labor relations with the union representing Rosebel employees and provide advice on appropriate corrective and preventive actions to maintain a positive and productive working relationship.

  • Investigate and evaluate union and employee complaints, grievances, and disputes, conducting objective assessments to determine their validity and recommending appropriate resolutions.

  • Manage disciplinary matters by conducting thorough investigations and providing advice and recommendations in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement (CLA), Code of Conduct (COC), company policies, and applicable local legislation.

  • Support collective bargaining and labor negotiations, including preparation for and participation in negotiations related to collective labor agreements and other employee relations matters.

  • Manage attendance and termination cases, including investigating and analyzing causes of employee absenteeism and voluntary/involuntary terminations, and recommending appropriate corrective or disciplinary actions.

  • Represent RGM in external labor-related proceedings, including Dismissal Board hearings and meetings with the Ministry of Labor and other relevant government or regulatory agencies.

  • Provide HR policy and legal guidance on day-to-day employee management, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, the CLA, COC, and HR policies, while partnering with the Legal Department when required to minimize legal risks.

  • Manage complex employee relations matters and grievances, conducting effective, thorough, and impartial investigations and providing sound advice to management on appropriate corrective, preventive, and resolution actions.
