Junior Electrical Engineer

We are looking for a Junior Electrical Engineer to join the Mill Electrical team at Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. The role supports maintenance strategies and power system improvements, enhancing operational efficiency, energy optimization, and asset reliability across mill operations in a dynamic mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support power system coordination studies, short circuit analyses, and arc flash updates with external parties.

• Modify VDC power supply to improve selectivity of the main circuit breaker.

• Lead conversion of 4160V fixed-speed motors to variable frequency drives (VFDs) for the tailing pump system.

• Replace existing 4160V motor/control systems with new 480V infrastructure for compressors.

• Upgrade Process Water Pumps to 350HP units, including installation of new electrical and mechanical systems.

• Design and implement power and control systems for new mill equipment based on distribution availability.

• Develop and maintain up to date as-built electrical drawings and documentation.

• Standardize procedures and technical documentation for future internal and third-party electrical projects.

• Conduct energy efficiency evaluations and recommend cost-effective upgrades using modern technologies.
